PamParticipant
Yes, yes, yes. That was my whole point Jesus had faith that his shed blood, death, and resurrection would be the propitiation for the sins of the whole world to them that believe. This whole discussion came about because Mari and Justin believe that the faith of Christ is the content of our faith. I think that is a huge difference.
PamParticipantThanks for the discussion, TNT. The deity of Christ and our salvation was never the issue with me. The faith of Christ meaning just that, Christ’s faith, and not OUR content of faith. Anyway, this discussion lead to lots of Bible time so that is a good thing.
PamParticipantTNT, I am so glad you brought up Galatians 2:16. This verse tells us that we are NOT justified by OUR works or OUR faith, we are justified by the faith of Jesus Christ.
You used Romans 3:22 “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.” Romans 3:23-25 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Jesus had faith in his own blood.
Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
I feel like I am getting back on track. We are not talking about our faith here. We are talking about Christ’s faith.
PamParticipantI really don’t want to go back and listen to Justin on this as he seemed to be on a bit of a rant about Christ’s faith and trust in God not being Christ’s faith at all. And then Mari brought up 1 Timothy 3:16. I may have to start back at the very beginning.
I wish I could keep a train of thought going for more than a minute or two! 🙂
PamParticipantSorry, Psalms 16 would be considered on of the Messianic Psalms.
PamParticipantI believe that Psalms 16 is Christ speaking because in Acts 2:27 David is being quoted starting in vs 25, “For David speakth concerning him…” Him being Jesus. Going back to Acts 22, “Ye men of Israel, here these words; Jesus of Nazareth…” Psalms would be considered one of the Messianic Psalms.
PamParticipantOkay, TNT, now I’m confused. What in the world are we talking about here?:) Is it Christ’s faith or salvation?
PamParticipantThanks, TNT, for re-posting this subject under faith of Christ. If anyone else is interested in 1 Tim 3:16 perhaps that can be a separate posting.
Mari, are you connecting 1 Tim 3:16 with the faith of Christ?
A couple of posts up I stated why I believe the faith of Christ means just that. I was hoping you would address some of the verses that I used to come up with that conclusion.
Happy New Year everyone!!!
PamParticipantSorry to hear that, TNT. Prayers.
PamParticipantI am so sorry, Mari. Prayers for your sister-in-law to be able to endure and comfort for all.

PamParticipantFunny I never really thought about those verses in that way. I can see where this could be very controversial. You are right, this would make a fascinating study. Kinda scary in some ways. Keep us posted!
PamParticipantThanks for the hug! I am hugging you right back.
I particularly like the part about people rightly dividing even if they don’t realize it. I think I will use this as my opening.
I can tell by these studies that you put a lot of work into them. Just wanted you to know how much that is appreciated.
PamParticipantMari, I am really enjoying this series! Thank you so much. You have renewed my enthusiasm to show others right division. I had been so discouraged lately. Those that will not hear….

Most people have just not thought it through to the point we have. Although, I have found a number of people feel quite threaten when they are asked to do so.
