2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 

 

Part 1

 

Many people unknowingly believe in false doctrines they have been taught. Usually by those who have also been wrongly been taught, or perhaps, they made up their own false beliefs to suit themselves and their religion.

 

 

So many folks simply do not know how to verify teachings as true or false for themselves. However, the Lord solved this problem for us by His command to “study to show ourselves approved unto God”.   We are not to rely on others to know the truth FOR US!

Are you taught to study to show yourself approved unto God?

 

 

If not…why not?

 

 

YOU personally are to take a teaching and study it out for yourself to be sure it is Biblical and rightly divided…no matter WHO your trusted teacher/preacher is!  We are to individually prove it true or not.

 

1Th_5:21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

 

 

Or, have you entered into and believed a man-made doctrine solely on your own choosing, or upbringing? Believing what those around you believe? Or, relying on your feelings and ideas about how you are saved and who God is and what He is doing or not doing?

 

 

The terrible danger of believing wrong teaching is that YOUR salvation rests on whether you believe man, yourself or GOD!

 

 

It is dangerous to rely on religions, priests or pastors, your friends, even parents that may believe wrong doctrines.  It is why it is important to believe God’s way on how to verify truth!    You see, no one piggy-backs to heaven….no one.

 

 

However, there is a solution that everyone should know.

 

 

Your choice is to study God’s word YOURSELF and know the gospel that stablishes YOU in POWER according to the REVELATION of the mystery!

 

 

Rom 16:25  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 

 

 

Why don’t all believers do this? Perhaps because they are not taught GOD’S word? Perhaps they are taught by the words of man instead! Perhaps because it takes an effort to mature and know for yourself the doctrines of God versus the doctrines of men?

 

 

Too many today are making up their own gospel apart from God…or add to His gospel, or subtract what they do not like or want to apply to themselves; which does NOT at all please God.

 

 

Too many today think God deals differently with their personality and quirks!  Perhaps believing that if they are a certain way, God will deal with them separately from His word or from others!

 

 

It is serious error, to believe that He “made you that way”, WRONGLY determining your own ideas and feelings are just fine.  Not knowing or acknowledging that God is NO respecter of persons.

 

Act_10:34  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

 

 

While it may make someone feel comfortable about themselves and their own perceptions of God, so they can do as they see fit, it simply shows that they do not know our Holy God at all. They are making a god into their own prescribed image and are in great danger to do so. They, having itching ears, enter willingly into a wrong teaching, perhaps of their own making, and soon will turn to fables which are fictious tales.

 

 

God’s word is true and stands forever. Every man a liar.

 

 

2Ti_4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

 

 

 

2Ti_4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

 

Rom_3:4a  God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;

 

 

And just to be clear…this is the gospel upon believing that saves you, plus nothing!

 

1Co 15:1-4  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 

 

 

How do you know you are not believing wrong teaching? By believing the gospel of grace found only in the Apostle Paul’s Epistles.  Romans through Philemon is where we find our INSTRUCTIONS for living today.

 

 

If you are being taught that there is anything you must do to be saved other than believe…it is wrong/false teaching! RUN!

 

 

How do you protect yourself from teachings that are in error? That deny essential, fundamental Biblical doctrines?  (The doctrines of God found in the word of God RIGHTLY DIVIDED.)

 

 

If you have chosen to make your plumbline “feelings” about your faith, about God and about yourself and your own ideas/choices of what is right and wrong…it is MORE than likely you are in SERIOUS error!

 

 

The BEST way to protect against, spot/detect error is to read and study the KJ Bible, rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15).

 

 

Why? Because when you immerse yourself in the word of God which is truth…error is easier to spot and avoid.  We are also to examine ourselves, whether we are in the faith…and prove our own selves!

 

2Co 13:5  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

 

 

We do not correct or alter the word of God…we allow the word of God…the WORD OF GOD… to correct US.
