SWORDS Bible Study: Problems and Solutions
      By Mari

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Problem: Not Studying the Word of God

      1. You are not taking time to study the word of God daily

      Solution
It seems that often the lack of daily Bible study is because one either does not know where in the word of God to start or how to do a study!
We should plan for a daily study with focus on why we are going to study and where in the Bible we will begin our studies. Putting together a strategy will help considerably. Putting a blueprint in place helps to establish or re-establish a pattern of daily study!
If you are attending a church that rightly divides you might ask the Pastor for material on how to study in your Bible. (3 tips at the end here.) Or simply get copies of the sermons or outlines, and study through them, using your Bible to look up the references!

Looking up what is being taught to prove it good and acceptable, true or not, according to the Scriptures. This is a wonderful thing to do, being in God’s will, because God has given us direction to do just this!
Rom_12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1Th_5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Often folks just do not understand that just as your body needs food to keep functioning, your SPIRIT needs food too! We get spiritually fed and are renewed by reading and studying in the word of God.

      Eph_4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

It does not happen by osmosis! Just being around right doctrine, or simply HAVING a Bible is not enough. We need to STUDY the bible ourselves to get renewed in the spirit of our mind!

Studying is digging into the scripture, learning it, and making connections ourselves! It takes effort and discipline! However, if you are out of practice, or never learned the practice, it really only takes just one minute. I followed this advice when I found myself in a slump not so long ago and it surely did get me back on track! It is from Pastor Justin Johnson, from Grace Ambassadors Bible Fellowship in Swayzee, IN. I will share it with you!

      “It Only Takes a Minute

I say this every morning when I return from the shower and I see a disheveled bed that needs to be made.

I reap the benefits of that one minute tenfold in pleasure when I come home from work later in the day to a ready-made bed.

I have 1,440 minutes every day; I can spare one.

Are you having trouble reading your Bible daily? Do it early. Start small until you get in the habit. Spend one minute every day. It will be hard to only spend one minute.

You will reap the benefits throughout the day when you have the word of God daily for breakfast.

      “It only takes a minute.”

      Growing in Christ,

      Justin “count the minutes” Johnson”

We are to study the word of God with the will of God for us in mind. The Lord tells us to “make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery”, and we can do this ONLT if we take the time to study His word. To know ourselves what the fellowship of the mystery is all about!
Eph_3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Do not forget that we study the word of God to show ourselves approved unto God…NOT ever to show ourselves approved unto men.
2Ti_2:15 a Study to shew thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Studying His word, we find ourselves to be a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, as we rightly divide the word of truth!
It also helps, to think about and plan how much time we have and want to set aside for our study. Try starting out with just the one minute. You will most likely find as I did, that 20 minutes just flew by! And once it becomes a habit, you will find you are spending more and more time with the Lord!

It is a sad truth that many believers are on one form or another of social media for hours and hours a day, and yet do not think they have even a minute to spare, studying the word of God.

It comes down to setting new priorities for essential things for our spiritual growth and health. Time spent with the Lord in the studying of His word, His very MIND, is profitable for eternity! It is also redeeming the time we have mindlessly spent in trivial, and temporal pursuits.

While the whole Bible is FOR us…however, not all of the Bible is TO us. We need to know how to read OUR own “mail” from God! If you are new to reading your Bible, you may want to start reading directly what God has for YOU this present day! Read Romans through Philemon!

Romans through Philemon are the epistles of the Apostle Paul. He was given new revelation from the RISEN Christ to take to the Gentiles, us.

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the REVELATION of Jesus Christ.
Rom_11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
