      GRACE AMBASSADORS MINISTRY UPDATE
      October 4th, 2014

History is profitable for the lessons we can learn from it; the rest is sentimentality and storytelling.

      “Remember the time when…”

“That’s great gramps, what does it have to do with me, today?”

No one cares about great gramps’ stories except his drinking buddies, and those who loved and knew him personally.

For the rest of us the past is only as good as the lessons it provides.

Ignoring the past will waste your time. You can also waste your time being caught up in the past.

What you need to know from the past is how to save time you haven’t spent, how to avoid mistakes you haven’t made, and how to go where no one is going.

Nostalgia is good for remembering lost loved ones. History is good for learning lessons.

Many history books spend their time in collecting dates and names, or trying to vividly capture the essence of the time. They trap people, and their time, in storytelling and nostalgia.

Not many tell it like it was, and get to the bottom line. There is now such a history for mid-Acts dispensationalists. You can find it on Amazon.

When you remember when, you should remember why. Learn the lessons of the past so you can press on toward the future.

      For His glory,

      Justin “historically” Johnson
