When Life Seems Boring….
Winter can seem boring where I live. Not nearly as much to do other than bring in the wood and snow blow and snow plow. Looking forward to the days the roads are good enough to go to town, grocery shop, do errands and have a coffee or lunch out and about.
I must admit that winter is a good time to catch up on reading, indoor cleaning and writing, but often it feels a bit oppressed by circumstances and the forbidding cold and snowy roads. Month after month can get a bit boring as opportunity to visit and get out are often limited.
So, somewhat boring…unless…there is something that goes beyond the mundane and will actually relieve the boredom. It is in this search we can see that some preoccupy themselves with drugs and alcohol or other often sinful distracting activities they hope will relieve their life problems or ‘boring’ life.
So what does go beyond the mundane that is safe, fun, available to anyone and very worthwhile? How about treasure searching?
Searching for the treasures of God!
Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Yes, learning about God and gaining the treasures of wisdom and knowledge definitely goes far beyond the mundane! We can know today the mystery of His revealed will, purposed in Himself and according to His good pleasure! Learning to take steps in faith is anything but boring!
It is the greatest adventure of all! Learning about the mysteries of God certainly relives boredom!
Do YOU know the mysteries of God?
Has anyone helped you to understand the mystery of God? Why not? It is free to anyone!
Col_2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Are you stablished according to the gospel of Paul and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, which was once kept secret but is now made known to us?
Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
God has made the mystery of HIS WILL KNOWN to us in this dispensation of grace!
Do you know this?
Have you been taught this?
Have you studied it or come across these verses and wondered what the mystery is all about?
Do you know the mystery of His will?
Eph_1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Have you even heard of this?
Do you know the mystery of His will?
Why not?
It is for ALL of us TODAY! We need to know, and certainly can know, and definitely should know the mystery of His will! It is right here in the word of God for our life and pleasure in Him, to His glory! You can know His will and understand in knowledge!
If you do not know about any of this it is time to ask WHY you not know about the mystery.
Who is your pastor or teacher that does not open his mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel to you and his church? Perhaps he does not know it either…maybe he has never prayed as Paul did to have boldness to teach and make known the mystery… Maybe you are being taught another gospel, or a mixed up gospel?
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph_3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
We have been given a commission in regards to the mystery!
Are you aware of this?
Can YOU make another see what is the fellowship of the mystery?
If not, WHY not?
Eph_3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
While the mystery had been hid from the ages and generations in the past…BUT NOW the Apostle Paul has made it known to us through revelations from the RISEN Christ! Did you know this?
Col_1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
2Co_12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2Co_12:7a And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations,
Is YOUR heart comforted, knit together in love, having the full assurance of understanding, to the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ?
If not, why have you not been taught this comfort?
This knit together in love? Do you even know how you are knit together in love?
Do YOU have the FULL assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father and of Christ?
Do you acknowledge the mystery of God? Or have you ever even heard of the mysteries of God, or that you can easily now know the mysteries of God today?
You should know the mysteries of God and as a believer, you should be preaching, teaching and ministering to others the mysteries of God!
WHY Col_2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
I will tell you why you do not know these things. Many today in the churches come against the plain teachings of the Apostle Paul and mix it up with the law as taught by the Apostle Peter. Peter was supposed to teach the Law…but unto ISRAEL, NOT to you a Gentile! While all the Bible is FOR us, not all of the Bible is TO us!
You are a Gentile if you are not a Jew. And today there is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile)! Today God is doing a new thing, making one new man in Christ!
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Eph_2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Why not spend your sometimes “boring” days searching, studying the word of God for His treasures! It is to your benefit and to His glory!
You will find in the word of God everything you need and desire. It is a true treasure hunt and God will not disappoint you! It is right there in the Bible for everyone who believes!
Col_2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
If you ever want some help or friendly pointers to where the treasure is to be found you may always message or email or call me! It would be my pleasure to join in your hunt…to help relieve your boredom with a real, meaningful, adventure!
