What Is the Grace Doctrine Part 5
(All caps for emphasis ONLY!)
So what is the Doctrine that is like no other?
Although the Mystery that was hid in God from the foundation of the world (Eph 3:9) was given to Paul by the risen Christ (Ro 16:25), it has been fully revealed to us through Paul’s epistles. Still, many do not recognize it or teach it. So in many ways it is still hidden today, because many do not know right division (2 Timothy 2:15) and have not been taught the gospel of the grace of God, according to the revelation of the mystery that was revealed to us by the Apostle Paul:
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Do you see this? The mystery was NOT known to Israel, was NOT known to any of the prophets, and was NOT revealed until the Lord raised up the NEW (not one of the 12) Apostle Paul (Saul) on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3-6).
This gospel given to Paul is the gospel that has the power to stablish us today, the preaching of Jesus Christ ACCORDING to revelation of the mystery. Do not miss the wording here…if the preaching of Jesus Christ is not according to the revelation of the mystery…it has NO saving power, and it has NO power to STABLISH you! What are you believing? Make sure my friends!
What is this power? It is the preaching of the mystery that was given to Paul who was sent to us Gentiles (Rom.11:13), NOT the preaching of the earthly Jesus Christ who came only unto the House of Israel (Mat 15:24).
How does this power stablish us? This is so IMPORTANT my friends, let us take a minute to understand fully what the word stablish means.
I have recently learned (I thank God for my Editors!) (part b) that the proper way to define a word from the bible using a concordance is NOT to find the underlying Greek word, since we do not read, write nor speak Greek, (here is part b…) but to find other verses containing the word (in English). We read and compare the contexts of each instance to generate a biblically-derived definition, then explain the sense of the word as found in the bible. (Besides, Greek definitions as provided by dictionaries (and Strong’s) are not always biblically accurate.
Also we want to take note that the word is NOT “establish”….but stablish. The King James is the only bible to make the proper distinction between the two words (e.g, Rom 1:11 vs 16:25).
Rom 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Establish has the connotation of a process, or the work being done to become stable.
Stablish means the work is done – what was being established is now completely stabilized.
(We will look more closely at the verses using these words at the end of the study!)
This is definitely what I want, don’t you?! To be permanently established and stabilized according to the gospel of Paul and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery! There’s no better thing to be stablished in than Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery.
So many believers still have themselves dunked in water to be “sure”…or to put forth a “sign” of an invisible change which God never asked nor promoted anyone ever to do. That whole line of thinking came from men who do not know how to rightly divide the word of truth. It is also because they were not properly taught how to be stablished by the gospel according to the revelation of the mystery… instead they are constantly trying to be “established” through man-made processes…like an empty water baptism, a work of fleshly man, instead of understanding their salvation is an operation of God the moment they believed on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. NOTHING can or should be added to HIS finished work! But man still wants to “out-holy” God it appears…but it cannot be done and should not be attempted.
Col_2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
The most important part of the Mystery is that Jesus Christ died for all men, and that we can be saved by simply BELIEVING that He died for our sins. Paul alone taught that we can know the Son of God in this way, apart from the nation of Israel through whom Gentiles used to have to come to approach God.
You may search in vain the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, to find if the 12 Apostles taught that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. You will find that it was not taught or preached because the 12 did not even understand it at that time!
It is important to know and understand that the Apostle Paul was not one of the 12 Apostles that served Christ through His earthly ministry. After Judas killed himself, the 11 Apostles cast lots to find whom God would replace him. We find it was Matthias. I point this out because many think Paul was one of the 12 apostles, and he surely was not!
Act_1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Paul was raised up separately, a man out of due time to serve the Risen Christ…
1Co_15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
… and take the revelation of the mystery, the gospel of the grace of God to all of us today…
Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
…to fulfill the ministry which he received of the Lord Jesus to testify the gospels of the grace of God…
Act_20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
…during this dispensation of grace given us by God.
Okay, let us take a look at the verses so you may study and understand how the Apostle Paul uses the words establish and stablish.
Establish:
Rom 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
1Th 3:2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
2Co_13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
Rom_3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Rom_10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Stablish/stablisheth
Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
1Th_3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
2Th_2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
2Th_3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2Co 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
From our study we see that Establish has the connotation of a process, or the work being done to become stable.
Stablish means the work is done – what was being established is now completely stabilized.
I hope you enjoyed this study. I enjoyed it immensely even though it was a very difficult study, as a lot of new learning and unlearning some old stuff was involved for me. I am grateful to God to be able to study His word to get understanding, and share with you all.
