Use It or Lose It

Hebrews 5:13 says spiritual babes use milk.

Milk is easily swallowed by the toothless, weak, and unskilled.

Hebrews 5:14 says meat belongs to them who by reason of use (in the word of righteousness) have their (spiritual) senses exercised.

Meat must be chewed repeatedly. It requires strong teeth, cutting skills, and cannot be swallowed without mastication.

Spiritually strong saints use scripture over and over again. They rightly divide it. They ruminate on it. They reckon it true when their flesh and circumstances say otherwise.

The Bible must be used repeatedly to strengthen your spiritual senses. But if you don’t use it you lose it.

If your senses are getting dull, pick up the book and start using it.
