SWORDS Bible Study: What Are Our Spiritual Blessings Part 3
by Mari
This week we are continuing on discovering our spiritual blessing in heavenly places.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
We saw last week that once we are saved by the blood of Christ we are free from all charges made against us! We are no longer condemned as sinners, we are fully justified and reconciled, having peace with God through Jesus Christ! No longer slaves to sin, dead to the Law, made alive in Christ and not only redeemed, but we look forward to a future redemption of our body!
We have also been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the heavenly kingdom of Christ. Take notice in the verse that the word translated is in the past tense! We are spiritually translated into heavenly places! Our spirits can and should be full of joy and thanksgiving no matter the circumstances in our lives!
We are no longer in ignorance about God and have been given the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ in the word of God! We are now light in the Lord, and we can and should walk as His children of light to give Him glory with our lives! How blessed we are right now!
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
2Co_4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
We are blessed to have eternity with our God: in our life in Him, in our position in Him, in our service to Him and our partnership of suffering with Him. What incredible blessings now…and to be revealed!
Blessed with Eternity:
Rom_6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom_5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
2Co_4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
2Co_4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2Co_5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Rom_2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Blessed In Life With Christ:
Read Ephesians 2:1-6 which describes how we were dead in sins and it is only because of Christ that we actually have life.
We are blessed right now while we live here in our bodies with all spiritual blessings! If you are a believer, Christ is our life and one day we will appear with Him in glory!
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Blessed in Our Position in Christ: Our position in Christ may seem too good to be true because we have been placed into the One who has preeminence in all things! Yet it is true by the word of God. The moment we believed we were made COMPLETE in Christ.
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Through Christ we have the highest standing, NOT a limited acceptance. We have been fully accepted in Christ!
Eph_1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
We are the righteousness of God in Christ! Though once we were dead in our sins, deserving of death and Hell, we are now placed in Christ Jesus forever. (Eph 2:1-9)
Next week Part 4….
