SWORDS Bible Study: Ever Learning
By Mari

(SWORDS: Strong Women Of Rightly Dividing Studies)
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
I believe those who are “ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth”, are those who do not know how to rightly divide the word of truth.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Most of these “ever learning” folks do not know the gospel of the grace of God, because they were taught a false gospel of mixed-up law and grace, which is difficult for them to understand, much less share freely with others in confidence! It is the gospel of denominations and religions.
It is why many folks never actively share the gospel with others, because they still feel they must learn more and more and more to be able/comfortable to share with others, what they are currently “ever learning”!
Some have been in these religions and denominations for years in the pews listening, and STILL are not able to share the gospel of reconciliation with others! And, frankly, this is good…when one does not know the truth, it is good not to share confusion!
Religious people DO need to learn more; they need to STUDY more themselves; and it helps to have the key to opening their minds and mouth to the word of God rightly divided!
Learning to rightly divide the truth means opening the eyes, minds and spirits of believers to the word of God without denominational confusion!
This KEY to the Bible gives a believer understanding of who they are in Christ, that each believer has the ministry of reconciliation, the simplicity of the gospel and what we are to know and believe from God for today…thus, the “ever learning…and never able to come to the knowledge of truth” STOPS!
We become EQUIPPED for the work God has given us to do!
As we should know, a Church that is continually teaching without ministry outworks…is not a true functioning Church. They have people filling the pews who listen to their ministers without understanding that THEY are the Church and THEY have a ministry the same as a pastor has in sharing the gospel of salvation with others.
I am not talking about a church doing good SOCIAL works in the name of a church. Nothing wrong with this necessarily, but it is NOT the function of the church, the body of Christ. The function of a church is to teach everyone the truth of God’s word, to help equip people to share His word with others. As well as OUR GREAT COMMISSION to make all men, believers and the lost, see what is the fellowship of the mystery!
Eph_3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
If a Pastor is not teaching according to the gospel of grace given to the Apostle Paul by the risen Jesus Christ, the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, it has NO POWER to STABLISH anyone.
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
And it is a fact, that this is the very gospel by which the secrets of men will be judged one day! If one is going to be judged by this gospel, one should certainly KNOW it!
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
What is the gospel that the Apostle Paul brought us to share with the world? What did he teach us that was not known to the world, that others had not taught or known or understood?
1Co 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
2Ti 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
While the resurrection was CERTAINLY prophesied, and the 12 Apostles also taught it, as when the Apostle Peter taught, it was to show that Christ was the Messiah, and the guarantee of their EARTHLY kingdom to come!
The Apostle Paul taught the resurrection as our SALVATION (1 Cor 15:2) for all those who would believe He died for our sins, and resurrected defeating death. (1 Cor 15:55) He taught that we are NOT reborn, but that we are part of the NEW CREATURE (2 Cor 5:17), the BODY OF CHRIST (1 Cor 12:27), the church. That OUR home is in heaven and all our blessings are in heavenly places!
It is the Apostle Paul who taught Christ in us the hope of glory!
Col_1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
It is important to know what you believe and why. Are you teaching and preaching the gospel according to the RISEN Christ? Do not add anything to this simple gospel and do not take anything away.
It is simple. It is believing the message from God for today found in Romans through Philippians, plus NOTHING.
No works can add to your salvation. None. No rites, rituals or extra credits.
