Has Your Faith Been Detoured by the Angel of Light? Part 1: Can You Be Put Under a Curse?
A SWORDS study by Mari
2Co_11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Satan does not come today with a pitchfork. He does not come as an ugly, frightening specter of evil.
He comes today as an angel of light!
He comes sneakily…hiding his evil from you wrapped in the guise of a false ‘truth’. He seeks to detour your faith by twisting the word of God, changing the word of God and His sacred doctrines.
We should look at a few and see how believers are being snookered by his wicked, malevolent ways to frustrate the grace found in truth. You see, Satan HATES rightly dividing (2 Tim 2:15) and his glee is to sow confusion and grief.
For example, I get mailings from different Christian organizations asking for money for Israel, using the word of God deceitfully. Telling me that if I do not send the blessing in the form of money to the nation of Israel, I will be cursed instead of blessed by God. This is the kind of hogwash the devil uses to beguile those who do not know the word of God, into giving under false pretenses! This is the common verse used to guilt and scare Christians.
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Before I knew how to rightly divide, I will admit that I sent the money many times! Now I understand that it is the work of the angel of light working in these organizations who handle the word of God deceitfully to gain your dollars. Now, that is not to say that some of them may simply be ignorant of the gospel.
First of all, if you are a believer in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ for our sins…well, do you not know that God will not, cannot curse you today?
Once you were saved and sealed, made accepted in the beloved {Jesus Christ} (Eph 1:6) you became the new creature in Christ, a member of the body of Christ! Christ does NOT curse His own body! WE are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His very bones!
5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
You will not be cursed for not supporting Israel, through an organization based in ignorance or falsely handling the word of God.
Won’t happen folks.
Today, Jesus Christ has REDEEMED us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us!
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
In times past, yes one would be cursed by God! BUT NOW, today we are under grace, and we give from our hearts not out of fear of a curse from our Saviour God!
Rom_6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Rom_7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
1Co_12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
1Co_12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.
1Co_12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Today, Israel the nation has been set aside for a time because of their unbelief and rebellion in crucifying the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Today it is not about nations but every individual, Jew or Gentile who will believe and be saved!
Act_13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
Gal_3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Today the Lord shows us the exceeding riches of His grace and kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Today we are in the dispensation of grace, not under law or curses!
Eph_2:7-8 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph_3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Gal_3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Could you choose to give the people of Israel monetary help? Of course, if you like! However, that said, let me clarify that if you are looking to give for God’s purposes, then you should consider if the organization is indeed performing the will of God ACCORDING to truth.
If one is giving to Israel, to Siberia, or to any country through a ministry based in truth, NOT deception, to help spread the gospel of the grace of God, it is a good thing. It is NOT a good thing to give in order to get blessings from God and avoid a curse!
This is a deception being visited on many Christians today, who through lack of rightly dividing the truth, are caught in a blackmail scheme that flagrantly uses ones emotions, rather than based on any knowledge of the truth!
Do not let your faith be detoured by the misuse of the word of God. Do not forget that we are in a battle, and do not forget the second part of opening verse: 2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Next week we will look at some other common schemes of the devil to use ones faith to detour them by confusion, and shams, schemes and facades against the word of God.
THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES
“I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved … that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”– 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJB)
