Has Your Faith Been Detoured By an Angel of Light? Part 11 What Is Your Pattern?

Do you know that the risen Christ gave us a pattern to follow? And it is not His earthly ministry?

Do you know what that pattern for us is?

In short that we as a sinner, believing on what Christ did for us at the cross, by grace we are saved.  We know this for sure through the Apostle Paul and his epistles.

Who showed us this pattern?

God.  He gave us the Apostle Paul as our pattern in this dispensation of grace.

1Ti_1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Plainly the Apostle Paul is relating that in him FIRST…Jesus Christ gave Paul as the pattern for all (hereafter) which will believe on Christ and His work on the cross…will have eternal life by His grace alone.

Saul who later was called Paul, was once an unbeliever. He did not believe that Jesus was the Christ. Paul was a blasphemer, a persecutor of those who DID believe Jesus was the Christ, injurious to them even to taking their lives for having that belief.  Yet, he obtained mercy from God.

1Ti 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Saul rejected the Saviour just as the majority of Israel did. He zealously persecuted those who did believe. He called himself the chief of sinners.

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Yet this man met Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus and he instantly believed the voice he heard was the Christ. He called Him Lord and wanted to know what the Lord would have him do. He obtained mercy from God by his belief.

Act 9:4-6 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

God called Paul a CHOSEN VESSEL UNTO HIM, who would bear His name (Jesus Christ) before the GENTILES, and KINGS, and the children of ISRAEL.

Act_9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Paul is a man born out of due time, the last man to have seen and talked with the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was to suffer and to bring the GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD to us all. He is to be OUR pattern for all who would follow this gospel of grace in the revelation of the mystery.

1Co_15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Act_20:24  But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

ONLY THIS gospel has the POWER TO STABLISH YOU. Paul calls it HIS gospel because it was given to him directly from the RISEN Jesus Christ in glory!  It is the Lord’s teaching to Paul which God had kept SECRET since the world began, for a VERY good reason! So that we could be saved by grace alone, no longer under the taskmaster of the Law which no one could keep!

Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

1Co_2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

This gospel was not taught by the 12 Apostles, they taught the gospel of the kingdom, the Messiah’s coming and Israel’s rule and reign on earth, with a baptism (work) for the remission of sins and a FUTURE salvation, having NO idea what His death, blood and resurrection even meant!

Mar 9:31-32  For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

Luk 9:44-45 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. (Check out Matthew and John as well!)

This gospel given to Paul is for ANYONE who will believe today, which means any Jew or Gentile because today, in Christ there is NEITHER Jew nor Gentile!

Gal_3:28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

The Lord warns us that ANY other gospel than the gospel of the grace of God perverts the gospel of CHRIST!  No matter WHO brings it…if it is different than what Paul has brought us via the risen Jesus Christ…they are accursed!

Gal 1:6-9  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

This means if you believe a religion based on what an angel supposedly brought, or are taught that you are a priest today, when you are NOT, because as a believer you are a member of the BODY OF CHRIST which IS the NEW CREATURE! We are NOT priests (that is for Israel) WE are ambassadors for Christ.

2Co_5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

If you have been put under any law rather than grace, this IS an accursed gospel.

Rom_6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Gal_5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

If you are being taught that baptism or other works augment, or save you it is an accursed gospel.

If you are being taught that YOU are Israel it is an accursed gospel.  If you are not following the gospel given by Christ to the Apostle Paul, it is an accursed gospel that will NOT have the power to stablish you.  God WILL keep ALL His promises to Israel.

We worship Christ by the gospel of truth given to our Apostle Paul for us today, to be stablished.

Do not be detoured by an angel of light or one of his transformed ministers into believing a gospel that is NOT for you!

Learn to rightly divide the word of truth.  Read your Bible and learn what the message from God TO you is today. Romans through Philemon.
