Do Not Be Detoured by an Angel of Light Part 7: Standing in God’s Truth

Why would anyone intentionally join the forces of darkness? Why would anyone join in with the world if they know the truth of God?

Perhaps they really do NOT know the truth…or perhaps they have been seduced by a transformed minister of light, serving self and darkness, leading others into the unholy? The Lord tell us this:

2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

There are many who are cherished believers, even preachers that seem to step off the narrow path, accepting and teaching others to follow them into compromising the truth. It certainly seems to be the case with those that have begun to teach such things as Universalism, forms of Calvinism, or that the body of Christ is Israel today, OR that our liberty enables us to do anything that we so choose, according to our conscience, and on and on…

Rodney King said years ago, “Can’t we all just get along?”

This is like an attempt at a type of Roman Catholic ecumenicalism …though ecumenicalism is the mixing of religions, beliefs, morals, whatever is needed to ‘just get along’, at the expense of TRUTH. At the expense of RIGHT doctrine. This is NOT God’s way. This is not the way for a believer.

Our conscience makes judgements, but our conscience can be spoiled by FALSE information. I know this for a fact having been told growing up as a Roman Catholic that to miss Mass on Sunday was a mortal sin. That if I died before confessing this sin to a priest, it would mean the loss of my eternal salvation, my end being total damnation in Hell. Missing Mass, not being ill but wanting to do other things, affected my conscience greatly. My conscience pained me seriously and condemned my action with this FALSE information. I believed the religion of men because I did not know the word of God, nor rightly dividing the word of truth. This to show you that your conscience can also lead one astray unless they themselves rely on the word of God and not men.

Just as others will have you believe something that is not the word of God, such as glorying in things other than the cross of Christ. Giving their reasoning that one may deem other things that God has NOT commanded or required of us, to be good and true, when they are not for us today in the dispensation of grace.   Believing in men and not the word of God can eventually sear one’s conscience.

1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

This means that a person’s conscience will be deadened, having been branded by the speaking or accepting of lies in hypocrisy. Their mind, which caters to their own desires and conscience, is defiled.

Tit 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

It is very important to stick to the doctrines of God and not men.

God deems HIS doctrines paramount! Read these:

Rom_6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Rom_16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Eph_4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

1Ti_1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

1Ti_1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

1Ti_4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

1Ti_4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1Ti_4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

1Ti_5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

1Ti_6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

1Ti_6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

2Ti_3:10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

2Ti_3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti_4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti_4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Tit_1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Tit_2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Tit_2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Tit_2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

God is truth and as believers we are to stand on truth no matter what the world does or believes, thinks, acts or judges. We are to take our STAND in TRUTH even if we are the ONLY ones standing.

Today, people are walking away from truth to do the things of the flesh that please them, believing they can do this because they are told there is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, which is TRUE, however many use this verse as a BUFFER to live in the flesh. This is NOT God’s plan or purpose for our lives, because there is a SECOND half to this verse…this is for those who walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit!

Rom_8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

One cannot be HOLIER than God; making their own determination of what is holy and what is not. We know what is acceptable to God by His word alone.

It is offensive when people use the word of God to do whatever they want to do in a supposed liberty of walking in their feelings, in their flesh and/or after human tradition! As if God will make exceptions as to what is holy to Him or not.

God HAS given us liberty…BUT it is in the Spirit of the Lord. Which is in His TRUTH …NOT in the reasoning of our worldly minds and lusts! Our liberty is that we have been made free from the law of sin and death! Our liberty is that now we may live freely in the Lord, in HIS truth, not as an occasion to the flesh.

2Co_3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Rom_8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Gal_5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Do not be detoured by an angel of light into giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. It is serving oneself not the Lord in truth.

1Ti_4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Stick to the word of God plainly.

Stick to what God’s instructions are for us today.

Stick to the holiness found only in the doctrines of God.

Do not reason with men who do not have the courage to tell you the truth because of their own lusts or fears of standing alone. Perhaps because of the pull of their own flesh, or for whatever their reason may be. Perhaps it is their own weakness that wants company while giving heed to seducing spirits. Perhaps they are tiring of the hard pull for easy acceptance in this evil world.

Stick to the word of God.

Stick to His doctrines for us today.

Glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gal_6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

This is an incredible verse. It is straight forward and important for us today. It tells us plainly what is holy to God!

Has the world been crucified unto you, and you unto the world?

Remember the world and all its ideas and trappings are crucified to you…and you to the world in Christ.

You cannot be holier than God. Live as He is telling you today, nothing more…and nothing less.

I love my brothers and sisters in Christ and therefore pray you will be strengthened by His Spirit in your inner man.

Be renewed in your mind and do not compromise with the world and what you may THINK should be added to your life, deeming what is good and holy, apart from the commands God has given us today.

Eph_3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

2Co4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Col_3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
