      Dear SWORDS…

Please keep one another in prayer…so many are very ill, or hurt, recovering or going through much right now…not only physically, but also through loss of loved ones, re-learning how to live alone. Then there are the sisters and brothers who are taking care of those who are stricken with many different illnesses or mental and emotional problems.  Please do not forget to pray for them…as well as their friends and families.

Lot’s of praying to do…seems like it is ceaseless, huh?  It is true that it is.  1Th_5:17  Pray without ceasing.

      Love to all,

      Mari

SWORDS Bible Study: What Are Our Spiritual Blessings Part 1?–

      by Mari

Do you know all the spiritual blessings that the Lord bestowed on you the moment you were saved?

What does this verse mean to you?

Eph_1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

I used to think that we could not know ALL of these blessings because of this verse:

1Co 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

However, learning not to take verses out of context, I simply read the next verses!

1Co 2:10-13  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

So with deep excitement I began to search out all the blessings that we have and can know through the word of God! Once we believed and were saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, I wanted to take a look at His blessings that are showered freely upon us! Take a look with me and grow in faith and courage as His ambassador here on this earth…what is now and what will be perfectly.

Number one we have instant access to all of God’s grace!

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it isthe gift of God:

Eph 2:18  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Incredible to have the gift of grace whereby we may have complete access by the one Spirit unto the Father!  He hears our prayers and we can converse with our Creator God by the Holy Spirit through His Son Jesus Christ! He answers us perfectly and clearly through rightly dividing the word of truth.  So here we go!

We are blessed with being adopted by God and accepted in the beloved the moment we believed!

Rom_8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Gal_4:5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Eph_1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Eph_1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Something to meditate on for the rest of our lives while still in our physical body is that we not only belong to God, we are members of His body! His flesh and of His bones.

Eph_5:30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

And we have an inheritance. His inheritance! Think about this if you will. What He has been promised, we have been promised in Him!

Act_26:18  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Eph_1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Eph_1:18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Col_1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Col_3:24  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

You see, we as His children are heirs with God and joint heirs with Christ! We suffer with Him and are glorified together with Him! We are justified by His grace!

Rom_8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Gal_3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Tit_3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

We have certainly been blessed to be made a new creature, the new man, the body of Christ!

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And we are reconciled to our God through Christ to live in Him forever, saved by His life!

Rom_5:10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Col_1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

It is my prayer that you will think on these blessings that are yours NOW, and that your heart is filled with faith and courage and joy!  Praise God and with great thanksgiving for the blessings that are ours in Christ Jesus in heavenly places.

Next week continued with Part 2 What Are Our Spiritual Blessings …. There are many, many more!

      THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES
“I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved … that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJB)

AMEN I love all the spiritual blessing – better than physical ones ultimately. I love how BY GRACE ALONE we are saved – and that we no longer have to go through the Jews. That we have eternal life simply by having faith in what Jesus Christ did for us. What a spiritual blessing – eternal life – new creature, part of the body of Christ, co-heir with Christ, The holy spirit in us as a comfort and guide. Access to enlightenment through the reading of the bible…. What an incredibly loving, gracious, merciful heavenly father we have.
